Comings and Goings

We have been busy as ever.  It is Stake Conference season so we are traveling all over our mission speaking at the stake conferences.  We are adding in zone conferences and interviews, so we have been traveling "aful" they say in spanish which means ALOT!   We were in Bariloche for a Pday and were able to do a little sight seeing.   The Andes mountains and the lakes are beautiful and the winter is coming quick in the southern part of our mission!  It was windy and there was snow already on the tops of the mountains.

We have had 14 Los Refuerzos (new missionaries)  join our mission this last transfer, so we are growing.  We now have 80 missionaries!  YAY!!

We also said Goodbye to 3 Los Fieles.  It is always sad to see them go!

Beautiful People

I was attending a baptism and one of the sisters attending was wearing the cutest necklace.  She is from a small pueblo called Cervantes.  It is a very humble area of Argentina.  Lots of Orchards and farms, most of the people their work in these orchards.  Many from this pueblo take a bus for 45 minutes to come to church.   I immediately complimented her.  A few minutes later she gave it to me.  This sweet, humble woman and her husband also feed and love the missionaries who work in that area.  She is a great example of consecrating your all to the Lord.

I listen to a podcast called ALL IN and recently they interviewed Elder David A. Bender.  At the end of the podcast the host always asks "What does it mean to you to be ALL IN the gospel of Jesus Christ?"

His answer touched my heart.

He said "Consecrated."  Consecrated means "Developed for and devoted to a holy purpose"

Sacrifice means, "I'll give my stuff, I'll give me."  Consecration is "With God's help I'll develop myself and I'll live for the gospel".

"We will put all of us - who we are - on the alter.  Consecrated, not give it up, but consecrated to God and His purposes.  So if I only had one word to describe ALL In, it would be Consecrated."

I am forever grateful for this opportunity to learn from such great men and women what it means to live a consecrated life.  This sweet necklace with purple beads will always remind me to live a consecrated life.
