Winter

It is so strange to be so cold in July & August.  I wonder if I will ever get use to the change of seasons in different months.  Southern Argentina has had record snowfall and cold temperatures.  But Spring is coming!!  Our missionaries are working so hard even in the cold and snow.  We have 90 missionaries now in our mission and keep growing.  We added a new zone and 2 new areas!

I recently heard the testimony of one of our missionaries who was finishing his mission and returning home

As he stood at the pulpit my eyes were drawn to his shoes.

They were very worn out.  You could barely tell what color they might have been when they were new.

I started thinking of all the kilometers those shoes have walked - too many to be counted.

The doors those shoes have walked up to and invited people to hear about the gospel of Jesus christ - too many to be counted

The miracles those shoes have witnessed.  - too many to be counted

Those old worn out shoes have been on sacred ground in homes where the Gospel of Jesus Christ was being heard for the first time.  What an incredible experience this sweet consecrated missionary has had for 24 months.  In the short 8 months he has been with us - he spent most of his mission in Missouri - I have seen him grow into a spiritual giant and has worn out his shoes in the service of God.

What a incredible privilege it is to help in this great work.  I hope my shoes are just as worn it will say I also gave all I could!

It reminded of the scripture in

Matthew 16:24

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
