Feliz Navidad!

One of my favorite names for Jesus is “The prince of peace”

Especially today in a world where people are worried, angry, frustrated, lonely and sad - we all need the peace that the savior offers

I love how Christ came into this world just like everyone of us as a baby.

He had the same human experience that we are having.  He experienced his own feelings of sadness, disappointment, anger, loneliness.

At the last supper when he was about to face the most extreme suffering the world has ever known

Christ proclaimed John 14:27“ Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you….. Let not your heart be troubled neither let it be afraid."

When we are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, sad, worried or lonely

it is comforting to remember  the Savior knows what it’s like to feel this way.

He knows how  to comfort us, heal us and bring us peace

Learning Spanish I have found that sometimes the scriptures are interesting because they will use

different words that create a better understanding for me.

Hebrews 4:16 it reads “ Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

In Spanish ‘’Acerquémonos, pues, confiadamente al trono de la gracia, para alcanzar misericordia, y hallar gracia para el oportuno socorro.’’

In spanish the scripture uses the word confiadamente, which in english means confident, convinced or sure

In English the scripture uses the word boldly which means - without hesitation.

I love how that brings a clearer meaning to the scripture

Because Christ knows our pain perfectly, we can approach him without hesitation and with confidence that we will obtain GRACE and MERCY in our time of need. His love and compassion for each of us is deep and real.

Because Jesus Christ is the prince of peace - if we want to find more peace in our lives we need to strengthen our relationship with him.

By learning of him,

spending time praying

listening to him,

and acknowledging every day the ways he shows his love to you.

When christ was born that christmas night the angels proclaimed

“On earth peace, good will toward men” Luke 2:14

On the evening before his suffering in gethsemane and death on the cross the savior met with his disciples for the Last supper.

He said to them   John 16:33

"Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world."

From the beginning of his life to the very end of his life, peace is a core message from our savior. Mosiah 15:18 “ The lord who has redeemed his people is the founder of peace”

What a beautiful gift -the gift of peace. May we all find the peace we are looking for! Merry Christmas!
