Missions run on 6 week intervals. New missionaries - Los Refuerzos arrive every 6 weeks and Missionaries complete their missions - Los Fieles every 6 weeks. So that is a very busy week. We have a dinner for the Los Fieles and the next day our Los Refuerzos arrive and we have lunch with them.
A week later we are on the road for Zone Conference. We have 4 Zones. It takes a week of travel to accomplish those because our mission is so large.
3 weeks later we take a Gira (or in English a tour) of the entire mission and President interviews all the missionaries in their areas. I make cookies and banana bread and buy ALOT of Gatorade to give to the missionaries. I wonder how long I will keep doing this! It wasn't too much when we only had 40 missionaries as we continue to grow maybe I'll just by Alfajores (they are delicious Argentina cookie)! It is so fun to see them and talk with them. Hear all the miracles and about the friends they are teaching. We now have 86 Missionaries and to interview all of them and drive to each area takes us 2 weeks. We are on the road for 1 week. The other week we can stay in our home and just travel each day.
I always show pictures of the Patagonia with the mountains and lakes but the rest of our mission in the north looks a lot like Nevada which has a different beauty!
We received a really big group of Los Refuerzos this week with 8 missionaries from the United States we had an Elder from Guatemala and an Elder from Peru. We are finally receiving missionaries from other countries! And we said goodbye to 3 Los Fieles, we always miss our Los Fieles when they leave. They have become part of our family.
